Emery loves peek a boo before we would put the blanket over her head and then pull it down and so on and so forth and she loved it.. NOW she is doing it on her own.. (note i helped put the blanket in her hand but she was the one pulling it up and down you can see her little hands at work) Sorry for it being sideways !!!

9 months!

Letter to Emmie

Today my dear you are 9 months old, it is amazing how much you have grown! We are so unbelievably lucky to have you in our lives. You are so strong and sometimes i believe you are stronger then me. I always thought that when you turned 9 months old i would be saying something along the lines of.."wow now you have officially been outside the womb just as long as you were in" but that happened when you were 6 1/2 months old! You have amazed me in so many ways learning so quickly showing no signs that you were premature! Even in the NICU your Doctors referred to you as the preemie who refused to believe she was a preemie (this always made me and your daddi laugh) I am so proud of you Emmiesauras, you continue to amaze me everyday!

a vent.

I don't bitch to often... Okay who am i kidding i bitch A LOT ;-)
Certain things every once in a while just get under my skin, and they linger there until i blow up.
Here is my latest urk..

One thing i have always hated was the comments i got for having a baby so young even though we were married and the pregnancy was planned, people just don't understand why i would want to "miss out on so much stuff" personally i don't feel i have missed out on anything! Young parents always get a bad rap, people say things like "their parents are actually raising their child" and "you shouldn't have a child if your not financially stable" And for once i actually know why people feel this way!

I am friends with many people on facebook and myspace many whom i attended highschool with, a lot of them have just recently had their first child..and they all seem to have one thing in common...They always update their status with things like "last night was so awesome , im so hungover i dont remember a thing" or they post pictures of them getting wasted with their friends... This really really pisses me off.. I understand the occasional party but posting about it every weekend .. WHO THE HELL IS TAKING CARE OF YOUR CHILD OBVIOUSLY NOT YOU! Why have a child if your not ready to take on the responsibility of being a parent. It makes me sick! the best quote ever "remember your not managing an inconveinence your raising a child"

could it be?

A few weeks ago we took Emery to the dr for a fever which was a double ear infection, while we were there i asked her ped to bump up our dosage of zantac for her reflux which he did we also discussed switching medicines if the new dosage didnt help. Well since the NICU i have always been afraid of giving emery medicine dont ask, i also dont like taking medicine. Anyways since she was on the penicillian i figured i would wait till she was done with the antibiotics before giving the zantac again...10 days later and i realized emery hadnt had a wet burp or spit up at all in those 10 days.. now 3 weeks later and still her horrible gas is gone, she hasnt been spiting up she stopped arching her back while feeding! Im shocked could it be her reflux has finally went away!!! I am so happy. I am hoping this isnt some crazy fluke and that it has finally gone away for her sake reflux sucked!

In other news the reflux may be gone but the teething is bad, she hasnt cut any teeth but her gums feel very lumpy thank the lord for hylands teething tablets and sophie the giraffe.. because without those 2 products emery would be a very grumpy young lady...
well im off to sleep now that emery is finally asleep and ill update later with some awesome new pictures

TOYS!

Okay so, I'm really into the latest and greatest baby products. Actually I'm a bit obsessive so i thought i would post some of my favorite toys for babies that well everyone can afford!

Sophie is awesome she is a bit pricey for what she is but well worth it
she is super soft giraffe that has a squeaker in the head and belly so she makes a fun sound when squeezed, she is so super light that even the smallest of babies can grip her.. She is made out of heavea tree sap and food coloring dye so she is safe for the babies to put in there mouth. She is an awesome teething toy. ( read all the awesome specs about her on the website)

Fisher Price crawl ball (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2935954)
This thing is awesome the monkey wobbles around the ball and makes playfull sounds and encourages babies to crawl, even my non crawler loves this toy and rolls around with it.. best thing is its price i think we paid $11 for it at Wal-mart

This toy is awesome, it has lots of things to stimulate baby the grabby parts have crinkly paper and awesome textures, and has a squeakie toy attached.. We bought ours from babies-r-us for $18

Fisher Price stacking rings (http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2341&e=detail&pcat=bubrilliant&pid=23)
This is a tried and true toy, you probably even played with one as a child! These stacking rings are great for baby to knock over, pick up and just have a ball with.. best thing is they go for about $7 at most stores!

Leap frog baby counting pal (http://www.leapfrog.com/en/infant_and_toddler/babypal.html)
This soft plush toy can attatch to your stroller or highchair for baby to play, it has a bunch of different options colors, counting, music, abc's and has fun objects on it for baby to play with usually goes for about $15 in stores!

I will add more as i go but i do not like to blog about toys we haven't tried and there are many on the market that i would still like to get to!

sleeping

has become non-existant as of lately.. One day Emery will be her normal amazing sleeper self.. like the other day when she went to bed at 6:30 pm woke up at 4 am for a bottle and then slept until 10:15 am..then there are days like this where she wants nothing to do with sleep

Fell asleep around 9pm woke up at 1:45 am it is now 2:39 am and she has had a bottle and is now being rocked and is still wide awake...

It is so unlike her to have such terrible sleep patterns, hopefully it passes just as quickly as it came.
It sucks because since j has to work early im always the one up with her and it seems i get less sleep then him as of late.

Cloth diapering has been going great, I am seriously happy about making the choice to switch. I love seeing her little booty all fluffy! Plus i think she likes them better they are extremely soft so im sure it would be amazing. I am now pretty much addicted to cloth diapers and spend way to much time reading about the different kinds, looking at new ones i want and looking at what accesories i need. There are still a few things.

On to other things, Emery is so close to crawling i keep saying this but i just feel like it will come any day now.. Her new accomplishment is scooting her but further and further down in her bouncer until it touches the floor and she is sitting then she rolls herself over on to her belly and plays.. She is crazy ! It is histerical to watch but also nervewracking. I used to be able to let her sit in her bouncer while i used the bathroom or got chores done.. Not anymore.. I know your saying "what about the harness? Strap her in?" Well you see i would do that, i have tried that and it leads to Screaming and thrashing around turning herself sideways and just a big struggle. I figure since she isnt hurting herself pushing herself out and Im always around her, even if im in the bathroom i can hear her and anywhere else in the house i can see her from.

Her newest obsession is her feet! She has been trying to reach them for a few weeks now but just last week figured out how to get them easily and now she is constantly doing it. In her bouncer, in the bathtub (picture attached), in her car seat, on the floor, during diaper changes(which actually helps) its cute as hell.

I have been pretty homesick lately..summer was always so awesome in ohio. Everyone had cookouts the family was always together doing something or another.My family is unlike any other, and i honestly mean that. They are crazy and wild and always know how to have fun. I just miss being able to be crazy with them. I can tell J misses them too..
Emery has her high risk infant check up on monday at the hospital where she stayed in the Nicu... It is her 6 month (corrected age) check up. I will let you all know how it goes. Im excited but also nervous for that drive ugh... I hate driving there even as a passenger (which is honestly worse) speaking of my driving anxiety i finally made an apt for myself a few weeks ago July 20th.. Hopefully that goes good! Anyways it is 2:50 emery is still WIDE AWAKE! here is hoping i can manage to get at least 4 hours of sleep tonight.

8 months!

Emery turned 8 months old yesterday! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by with her. When everyone told me to cherish every moment, i never really thought it would fly by like they said.. But It has!

Emery is doing much better, her infection is almost completely gone, she hasn't had a fever in days and her appetite has gotten even bigger :piggy piggy: We are going through some crazy sleep habits at the moment though, because Emery has learned how to roll and move however she wants she wakes up in the middle of the night rolls and scoots all over her crib (lowering the mattress this weekend) I am hoping her awesome sleep habits return soon, because we have never ever had a problem with her sleeping through the night and i would hate for it to happen now lol.

In other news, starting cloth diapers in a few days, which im pretty stoked about (thanks mom and dad for helping start are collection) as many of you know there not cheap to start but way worth it in the long run, i wish i wouldnt have waited so long but oh well! Still lowering my carbon footprint.
